Panamik village is situated on the bank of River Siachen at an Altitude of app. 10600 feet above the sea level. Siachen Glacier lies north of this beautiful village while Saser Pass and the world famous KARAKORAM PASS lies to the northeast connecting the valley with Xinjiang. Panamik village is famous for its Hot Spring which is known to cure four different types of aliments namely: Skin, Bowl, Acidity and Joints etc. By Amchi ( Local Doctor ) system of medicine many ailing persons visit areas fire curing diseases. During Trans Himalayan trade Panamik is one of the main centre for staying traders as the areas is not only half way between east Turkistan as well as Central Asia and India joining the Silk Route also a pasture and for the beast of burden.
This village is only 10km distance from spectacularly located Ensa Monastery. Beside the village there is a very beautiful Lake known as Lhuban Tso (Wish Pond) which is like a Cup of Tea with all the four sides is covered with mountains. The village is located 22km from Samstanling Monastery and just 55km away from the Block Headquater Diskit. As Nubra valley was opened to International Tourists in the year 1994 upto Panamik Hargam. Now tourists can travel further till Yarma Gonbo and Warshi which is approx. 40km ahead. The area is known as Siachen Belt i,e Rose Valley region in literary term as well as Botanist (Scientist ).
